Getting started With BoxLang as an alternative CFML engine

session

Friday, May 1st, 11:20

While BoxLang is both a new language and runtime, it's also a new way to run your CFML applications--as an alternative to Adobe CF or Lucee. As you contemplate this new possibility, naturally you'd have questions about CFML compatibility, configuration, licensing, deployment options, and more. (And if you have no CommandBox experience, note there are ways to run BoxLang WITHOUT use of CommandBox. Those having experience with it should find switching between engines even easier.)

In this session (as his 7th year presenting at Into The Box), veteran troubleshooter Charlie Arehart will walk through these fundamental matters and more related to getting your CFML apps running on BoxLang, including using its compatibility analysis tool and online tools to test without installing anything. As always, Charlie will offer ample resources for ongoing help and assistance. (To be clear this talk is NOT about *conversion of your CFML to the BoxLang language*, which is a compelling but separate topic worthy of its own talk.)
